Picture
River Installation, early February, after a hailstorm. The water level is very high and many of the columns are barely visible. The effect of the perspex is ambiguous in the moving water. From a distance it is difficult to see the full reach of the piece as it extends in shoal formations down the river.
Picture
River Installation after a month. The water level is lower, exposing more of the sculpture. The columns now stand out in their setting, but in some ways they are increasingly integrated into the river, as they become coated with yellow/brown algae and a chalky residue left behind as the water levels dropped.
